How does it all work?

We encourage you to place a regular, recurring (standing) order for a box of seasonal vegetables because this gives our farmers some idea of how much they need to plant for the season. You decide whether you want a small (feeds approximately two) or a large box (feeds approximately four) and whether you want it delivered weekly, fortnightly, every third week or monthly.

We change the box contents each week to reflect what is in season and send you an e-mail listing the contents of the box each time you are due a delivery. The contents of the boxes are also posted in the online shop on the website on the Saturday evening before delivery. By clicking on a link in the e-mail or looking on the website, you can add items, delete items, swap an item for something of similar value and change quantities.

When you become a member of our scheme, you tell us which vegetables you never want to receive in your box, these are called ‘never sends’. This means that even if you don’t have a chance to look at your e-mail that week, we will take out any vegetables that you don’t like and replace them with something else. You can enter holiday dates, skip a box or cancel your order whenever you want to. You can also add meat items, eggs, honey or preserves to be delivered once only or every time you receive your vegetable box.

If you are away a lot or placing a regular, recurring (standing) order really doesn’t suit you, you can place ad hoc orders and select the contents yourself from our list of in season vegetables, meat and other items. Please note that our minimum order value is £8.99.

When are the box contents posted in the online shop?

By 7.30 pm on the Saturday before delivery.

What is the deadline for orders and changes to orders?

End of day (midnight) on Tuesday for delivery that week.

What if I am not in when you deliver?

You don’t have to be in when we deliver. Simply specify a safe place for us to leave your order (for example porch, garden shed) in the appropriate box on the checkout page. Our meat items are packed in insulated boxes with ice packs which maintain the correct temperature for at least 24 hours.

Do you charge for packaging and delivery?

We don’t charge for delivery. We deliver our vegetables in plastic crates and our meat items in insulated boxes with ice packs. Please leave the crates and insulated boxes out for us when we deliver to you next. We will charge £2 to your card if you we haven’t received a plastic crate within 4 weeks of delivery and £5 for the insulated boxes.

Do you have a minimum order value?

Our minimum order value is £8.99.

What if there are vegetables that I/my family don’t like?

We call these items ‘never sends’ and you will have the opportunity to tell us about these when you register. You can also change your list of ‘never sends’ at any time by going into ‘edit your registration information’ once you have logged in.

Payment and Security

When do I pay for the goods?

You enter your card details when you register and your card will be charged for your goods on the Monday after they have been delivered. You don’t have to enter your card details each time because they are encrypted and stored on our secure server.

How do I check my account balance?

You can check your account balance by clicking on ‘review your account’ once you have logged in.

What if I want to change my card details?

You can do this by clicking on ‘edit your registration information’ when you have logged in.

How do you charge for meat items?

Most of our meat items are charged by weight. The weights and therefore prices of the meat items may vary slightly. The price of the meat items will be shown clearly on the packaging and your card will be charged accordingly.

Is it safe to order goods over the internet?

We use a third-party, Protx, to collect and process your payment details. All sensitive information is encrypted to ensure that the information is secure and tamper-proof. The Protx web servers are certified by Verisign and the company is regularly audited by Visa and MasterCard to ensure that their systems conform to the latest security standards.

Do you pass my details on to other companies?

Absolutely not. We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which you provide it to us. We never pass on personal details of our customers to third parties.
